Spanish level 4
Course information
The course Spanish level 4 is intended for students with a broad basic knowledge of Spanish. You must already be able to talk about your education, work, leisure, money and other everyday topics, and be able to apply all the basic Spanish grammar.
The aim of Spanish level 4 is not only to improve your proficiency in reading, listening and reading in Spanish, but you will also learn to write brief letters and emails.
On completion of this course, you will be an advanced basic user of the language and able to discuss familiar topics such as going on holiday, family, pets, home repairs, leisure and work. You will be able to express your feelings and your opinion on these and other topics.
Grammatical aspects covered in Spanish level 4 include different types of sub-clauses (such as sub-clauses using although/therefore/despite), modal auxiliary verbs (such as llevo viviendo), presente de subjuntivo (quiero que vivas) and ser and estar (soy joven and estoy joven).
Assessment
The intake procedure for this course comprises: intake interview, online testAfter you have registered for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure. If you have completed the Spanish level 3 course at UvA Talen, an assessment will not be necessary.
