UvA Talen translates Isaac Israels in The Hague exhibit for Historical Museum of The Hague

From 2 June 2012, The Historical Museum of The Hague is showing the exhibition Isaac Israels in The Hague. Visitors to this exhibition of paintings and watercolours by Isaac Israels (1865 - 1934) can experience for themselves what The Hague and Scheveningen looked like at that time.

UvA Talen was very honoured to be asked to provide the English translations for this splendid exhibition back in March. Within a very short space of time we translated all the exhibition texts, website texts and exhibition brochures into English.

Jobs of this kind, which are aimed at a wide public, require a creative approach - a straightforward, literal translation just isn't good enough. Producing an elegant, clear and easy-to-read English text that also does justice to the Dutch original is an art in itself, and according to our client we once again succeeded. The Historical Museum of The Hague was very happy with the collaboration and staff expressed their gratitude for our pro-active contribution to the project.

Would you like to judge the results for yourself?  The exhibition is open until 23 September 2012.
