Brazilian level 2
Course information
Brazilian level 2 is intended for students with some knowledge of Brazilian Portuguese. You should already be able to introduce yourself, tell something about your family and say where you live and work.
During Brazilian level 2 you will further expand your proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will learn things you can use in your daily life, such as talking about days, times and seasons (hoje é dia …, estamos no inverno), showing someone the way (perto de, na frente de, dentro de, longe de, etc.) and expressing your desires and needs (eu quero ir ao cinema mas).
Upon completion of the course you will be able to talk about something that took place in the preterite indicative, using the common verbs ser (to be), estar (to become), ter (to have) and ir (to go). You will also learn how to use the verb precisar (to have to or to need), for example in eu preciso falar com você and eu preciso de gasolina.
Assessment
The intake procedure for this course comprises: intake interviewAfter you have registered for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure. If you have completed the Brazilian beginners course at UvA Talen, an assessment will not be necessary.
