French level 11

Course information

In the French level 11 course you will take your language skills to a higher degree of proficiency. After this course you will be able to:

  • Write a motivation letter, CV and professional email
  • Take part in a job interview
  • Campaign on social issues

Who is it for?

This course is suitable for you if you can speak French at a very high level. For example, it's been a long time since you had any difficulty talking about everyday things, you can discuss social issues and you can speak and write French spontaneously and fluently.

If you are looking to work or do a work experience in France, this is the perfect course for you.

What will you learn?

During French level 11 you will improve your professional French reading, writing, listening and speaking skills by exploring working in France and the French labour market. You will learn how to successfully find your way through a job application procedure, from looking for job vacancies to writing a motivation letter and preparing for your first day at work.

During the course we will also explore campaigning, which plays a significant role in French society. You will take on the role of a demonstrator, by:

  • Writing a protest letter
  • Preparing a coup de gueule
  • Launching a campaign and a petition

Topics covered include the fight against single-use plastic, and gender equality in the workplace.

And grammar?

The grammar you learn during this course includes:

  • Tenses used in the indicative (indicatif) and subjunctive mood (subjonctif): je peux, il va/que je puisse, qu'il aille
  • Time sequences: la veille, ce jour-là, le mois d'avant, deux ans plus tard

Other grammar depends on your needs and wishes and those of your fellow students.

If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a certificate showing the level you have attained and you will be able to continue to French level 12.
