The course Japanese Beginners is for absolute beginners who want to start learning the Japanese language. The course covers all basic grammar and vocabulary you need in order to develop your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
At the end of the course you will be able to read and understand typical expressions and sentences written in Hiragana, Katakana, and basic Kanji. You will also be able to pick up key information from short conversations spoken slowly, to understand it, and to form a suitable response.
During Japanese Beginners, you will learn around 180 words of the Hiragana and Katakana syllabic alphabets, and around 15 Kanji characters. You will learn how to greet people and how to describe straightforward situations in simple sentences, using the present and past tense. These simple sentences build the foundation for more complex sentences that enable you to express yourself more freely in the Japanese language.
The end level of Japanese Beginners is equivalent to one fourth of level N5 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).
