Japanese Level 7

Course information

The Japanese level 7 course is intended for students with a good basic knowledge of the Japanese language. You should be able to clearly convey simple information, give instructions and retell a story you have heard.

After Japanese Level 7 you will be able to ask someone to do something for you. You will also learn how to give advice in a respectful manner and express your gratitude for something that someone has done for you.

During this course you will learn around 150 new words and 45 new kanji characters, so by the end of the course you will know around 1,100 Japanese words and 300 kanji characters.

The grammar taught in Japanese Level 7 includes asking questions (どこに行くかわかりません), forming passive sentences (さいふをぬすまれました) and using auxiliary verbs (テーブルの上に本がおいてあります).

The end level of this course is equal to three quarters of Level N4 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

The course material is written in English, so a basic understanding of English is needed.

If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a certificate showing the level you have attained and you will be able to continue to Japanese Level 8.
