Russian level 8
Russian level 8 is intended for students with an intermediate knowledge of the Russian language. For example, you must already be able to have a conversation about Russian culture and literature and write clearly about a range of topics.
This course focuses on reading, writing, speaking and listening. As part of this, grammar, reading and vocabulary are also covered.
After completing the course, you will be able to talk about Russian culture, society, art, history and literature. You will also be able to write clear and detailed texts about a range of topics relating to your interests. In addition, you will be able to understand specific spoken and written information and read and understand Russian prose with the help of a dictionary.
Areas of grammar covered in Russian level 8 include the difference between the imperfective and perfective aspect, tenses in main and subordinate clauses and the use of specific words and word combinations.

After you have registered for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure. If you have completed the Russian level 7 course at UvA Talen, an assesment will not be necessary.
