The Spanish Beginners course is for those students who have little or no knowledge of the Spanish language. Starting with ‘¿De dónde es usted?’ and ‘¿Cómo se llama usted?’ you will be introduced to the Spanish language.
On completion of Spanish Beginners you will be able to read simple texts and to hold brief conversations in Spanish. You will be able to introduce yourself, for example, and to say who you are, what you do and what you like. You will be able to ask and answer simple questions about an immediate need or a very familiar topic (for example when shopping). The course also covers writing short, standard sentences.
In order to achieve these goals, you will learn, among other things, the Spanish alphabet and numerals and how to recognise and use nouns and adjectives.
Grammatical skills covered during this language course include the present tense (for example yo estudio), the past tense and the imperative (firme aquí, por favor).
