The Language Academy: online language courses by UvA Talen

The Language Academy is a new platform developed by UvA Talen where students can learn a new language online. It offers complete language courses in a dynamic and lively learning environment.

Academic quality

The online courses have been developed by UvA Talen’s language experts. They combine academic quality with a quick learning curve and the lessons are geared to results. Learning segments are constructed around four young professionals from Amsterdam who draw the students into everyday situations. Accompanying conversations, exercises and videos allow students to learn sentences and idiom which they can immediately put into practice.

Complete language courses

“The Language Academy offers users all over the world the opportunity to follow a comprehensive and complete language course without having to leave home,” explains UvA Talen Director Marcus Hilbers. “It does away with the geographical limitations of our academic language centre in Amsterdam. We’re delighted that we’ve now made a reality of this breakthrough which countless users have been calling for.”

More courses on offer

At the moment, The Language Academy provides courses for beginners in Dutch, English and Spanish, but the range of courses will soon be expanded. The online platform will eventually offer at least eight languages and 50 different courses.
